Welcome to ECLIPSE SEGURO (hereinafter, the "Portal"). By accessing, browsing, or using this website, you declare to have read and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not unequivocally agree with any of these points, we urge you to leave the site immediately.

1. Legal and Informative Nature of the Service

ECLIPSE SEGURO is an independent science outreach initiative, managed by an informal collective without legal personality (natural persons). The sole purpose of the Portal is to compile public information and conduct orientative documentary reviews of solar protection glasses intended for eclipse observation that declare conformity with the European harmonized standard EN ISO 12312-2:2015.

You explicitly acknowledge that ECLIPSE SEGURO does not conduct direct optical technical assays or physical laboratory tests on commercial products, does not exercise the functions of a Notified Body, nor does it hold regulatory or administrative powers over the European Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) market.

2. General Conditions of Use

The user agrees to use the Portal and the displayed data in good faith. The following is strictly prohibited:

  • Automated mass extraction of the database ("scraping" or mass data collection) for commercial purposes or for the profit of private agencies.
  • Illicit use of logos, trade names, or verified brands to mislead the end consumer by simulating commercial endorsements or legal homologations.
  • Insertion of fake, abusive, or fraudulent reviews in the community modules by manufacturers or distribution agents.

3. Intellectual Property and Links

The entire visual structure, databases, and proprietary texts of the Portal are protected by the international intellectual property framework and the laws of Spain. The trademarks, patent references, ASIN codes, and model names appearing in the registry are the property of their respective owners, being cited solely for informational purposes, identification, and end-consumer protection (Fair Use).

At ECLIPSE SEGURO we are fully committed to our users' right to personal data protection. This Policy regulates data processing in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD) of Spain.

1. Data Controller

The processing of the data collected on this website is the exclusive responsibility of the natural persons who make up the volunteer group of eclipseseguro.es, with support channels enabled in the electronic module on the Contact page.

2. Data Collected, Legal Basis, and Purpose

In accordance with the principle of data minimization, we only process:

  • Authentication Module (Supabase OAuth): We collect the email, name, and avatar provided by the provider (Google/Apple). The legal basis is the user's explicit consent upon registration. The sole purpose is to enable a secure comment environment and prevent spam attacks or fake profiles.
  • Request and Comment Forms: Textual data entered by the user, images of commercial batches attached, and product brands. The purpose is to evaluate in an amateur manner the apparent compliance of the reported glasses.
  • Technical Cookies: This website exclusively uses essential technical and session cookies to maintain the authenticated user's identity. No type of advertising tracking or commercial behavioral monitoring is carried out.

3. Data Retention and Zero Disclosure

Data is stored in high-security European infrastructures. Under no circumstances will we transfer, sell, or rent your personal data to third-party marketing companies, e-commerce corporations, or foreign entities.

4. Rights of the Data Subject

You may exercise your rights of Access, Rectification, Erasure (Right to be Forgotten), Restriction of processing, Portability, and Objection at any time. To exercise these rights, simply send us a formal request through the unified form on the Contact tab, providing the necessary verification data.

Critical Eye Health Warning

Direct observation of the solar disk without an approved optical filter, or with a damaged filter, instantly and painlessly causes irreversible Solar Retinopathy, destruction of the cells in the retinal fovea, central blind spots, and permanent blindness. Ordinary sunglasses, photographic films, or homemade X-rays do not protect against destructive infrared and ultraviolet radiation.

1. Exemption from Civil Liability and Eye Injuries

The use, acquisition, or assumption of conformity of any of the products listed or analyzed in this portal is done at the sole, exclusive, and absolute risk and account of the end user.

Under no circumstances or legal precept shall the volunteer site administrators, web developers, or authors of the informative articles be civilly, criminally, or administratively liable for direct or indirect personal injuries, total or partial loss of vision, temporary or permanent blindness, or property damage arising from the use of solar observation equipment during the eclipse, regardless of whether such equipment was indexed on this site with a favorable ("Verified") or unfavorable ("Not Suitable") classification.

2. Legal Immunity for Third-Party Document Forgery

ECLIPSE SEGURO conducts documentary reviews of an amateur nature based strictly on good faith and public information exposed by manufacturers or laboratories. However, the Portal assumes no responsibility for documentary forgeries, fake CE conformity certificates, digitally manipulated or altered laboratory test reports (such as POCE or other bodies), or identity thefts of the Authorized Representative in the EU (EU-REP) carried out criminally by importers or sellers on third-party platforms.

The appearance of a model in the database only reflects a merely informative conformity at a documentary level, without this constituting an explicit legal guarantee of safety for an individualized batch.

3. Total Absence of Distribution and Business Links

As a collective of natural persons, we strictly declare the absolute absence of distribution links, affiliate marketing, or commercial relationships with the listed providers. We do not sell products or obtain direct tax or financial incentives from fluctuations in manufacturer sales.

4. Personal Obligation to Inspect

It is the exclusive and mandatory responsibility of the user to visually examine the physical frame and filter polymer before each direct solar exposure. If micro-perforations, wrinkles, or detachments of the cardboard filtering polymer are detected, the equipment must be destroyed and discarded immediately.
