Welcome to ECLIPSE SEGURO. By accessing and using this website, you agree to be legally bound by the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use our portal.

1. Nature of the Service

ECLIPSE SEGURO is an independent, non-profit initiative. Our goal is to aggregate public information about solar observation glasses that claim to comply with the European standard EN ISO 12312-2:2015. We are not an EU notified body, nor a testing laboratory, nor a commercial retailer.

2. Permitted Use

You agree to use this Portal solely for informational and personal safety purposes. It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Copy, scrape, or commercialize our database for economic gain.
  • Use our name or logo to imply that we certify the sale of a commercial product.
  • Post false or manipulated reviews. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules.

3. Intellectual Property

All design and database structures are protected by international and Spanish intellectual property laws. Trademarks mentioned in our checklist belong to their respective legal owners and are used here under the "Fair Use" doctrine for public information purposes.

1. Data Controller

Since we operate as a voluntary non-profit organization focused on astronomical safety, the data controller for the data collected through forms is the administration team of eclipseseguro.es.

2. What Data We Collect and Its Purpose

  • Login (OAuth): We collect your email address and name provided by identity providers (Google/Apple). Purpose: Authenticate your identity to prevent review spam. Lawful basis: Your explicit consent.
  • Forms and Reviews: We collect the text, voluntarily uploaded images, and the name you enter. Purpose: Process your inquiry or publish your review.
  • Technical Cookies: We only use strictly necessary cookies to maintain an active session. We do not use advertising or invasive tracking cookies.

3. Retention and Recipients

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted within the European Economic Area (EEA). We will never sell, rent, or transfer your personal data to commercial third parties.

4. Your GDPR Rights

You have the right to: Access your data, Rectify it, request its Erasure (Right to be forgotten), or object to its processing. You can exercise these rights by sending us a message through our Contact page.

Looking directly at the Sun without an approved solar filter in perfect condition can cause Solar Retinopathy, permanent blindness, or severe and irreversible eye injuries instantaneously.

1. Liability Waiver for Injuries

The use of any product listed, verified, or mentioned on the ECLIPSE SEGURO portal is done entirely at the user's own and exclusive risk. Under no circumstances will the creators, volunteers, web developers, or contributors of this site be legally liable for personal injury, vision loss, or any other damage resulting from observing a solar eclipse, regardless of whether the equipment used was listed on this website or not.

2. Nature of Information and Certification

Our platform collects information on products that claim to comply with EU regulations for PPEs (EU Regulation 2016/425) and the technical standard EN ISO 12312-2:2015. The user understands and accepts that:

  • We are not an EU Notified Body nor do we conduct optical laboratory testing.
  • Our review is based on public documentation and limited samples, which may be subject to counterfeiting beyond our control.
  • We do not guarantee consistency of manufacturing quality for each individual batch delivered by the brands.

3. Absence of Commercial Affiliation

We do not sell, manufacture, distribute, or intermediate the sale of eclipse glasses or solar filters. We do not charge affiliate commissions or obtain benefits if you purchase products from the brands listed on our site.

4. User's Obligation to Inspect

It is your legal and personal obligation to inspect the physical filter before each use. If the filter has scratches, holes, bubbles, or if the frame is damaged, you must discard it immediately.
